In Memoriam Exhibition
About the Project
Bringing together 28 artists from across Derby and Derbyshire, In Memoriam provides a space and platform for people to reflect on the impacts of the global pandemic, personally and collectively. This online exhibition presents postcard sized works that have been made using a range of forms – some artists have responded using illustration, some have incorporated mixed media. What connects them are the themes that they are presenting: loss, isolation, closure and hope.
From abstract representations of feelings and emotions as demonstrated by Martin Hyde, to depictions of picturesque coastlines that we are hoping to experience soon by Richard Fothergill, each artwork in this exhibition demonstrates something both distinctive but relatable. These artworks are a marker of a time where we felt so distant yet so connected. This online exhibition acts as a circle of embrace, that we hope will bring together so many of us with a shared sense of loss and help us to come to terms with our lives moving forward.
View the exhibition below and register your interest to bid on one of these artworks in our Silent Auction, where proceeds will be shared with the Artists, and contribute to our wider programme, In Our Thoughts, supported by Mind Charity.
