Caroline Backhouse

About the Artist

Caroline is a mixed media artist working in paper, metal, and stitch. Through her work she explores the idea of spiritual truth and unravels the complexity of illness and loss. Her background to date has predominantly explored dementia and beauty, with her Listen and Understand Me exhibition in 2013 at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield, her Dementia Necklace series in 2015 at The White Cloth Gallery in Leeds, and more recently in 2018 with her curation of Sheffeel festival on the theme of Creating an Ecology of Hope. In which she designed an Ecology of Hope sculpture in silver, gold and precious stones.
